Well after breaking the class B cherry, accumulating over 100hrs and getting more time in actual I am spent. Not only that but I just got through midterms at school.
Next on the agenda
1. Get the wisdom teeth out next week.
2. IFR Checkride the week after.
Well sometimes I wish it would slow down a bit so I could go be social out side of the gym or basket ball, But you cannot have everything. Going into Seattle was very exciting the briefer was kind enough to leave out the fact that the runway that I wanted to land on was out of commission and that lead to an exciting exchange with ATC but all in all my long cross country went well and i am excited to move on. Now I just have to hit the books to take my written test. Lately I have been seriously considering getting my a&p I would love to be able to do that on the side when I make it to a regional or freight. Something to think about tonight while I work on math home work. Well since I have jumped around topics and now sound like a babbling fool I will it at that and go work on my math homework…

So after sitting around all day at the airport wishing that the fog would clear. I was able to launch on my IFR xc today. I flew from KHIO to KCVO and it took about 2.2 hours. It was very overwhelming. Part of my problem was my poor preflight planning. so we had been trying to do this xc for multiple days now and I had just kept modifying my flight plan that i made for our initial attempt. That was probably one of the worst Ideas I have ever had. (Note to self, don’t do it again.) not only that but my serious lack of organizational skills in the cockpit lead to a dismal performance and I am not happy at all with the outcome.. Oh well I can look back and learn from these mistakes. Thankfully I have a cross country or two scheduled for Tuesday before my long cross country and end of course check ride. For all of you out there reading this wish me luck. Now for me, I have some instrument procedures to study.
Good night,
Seth

Well today I had one of my final progress checks for my instrument training Everything went ok and I passed with a cool 91%. There were a couple different mistakes that I wish I could do over but other than that I am pretty happy with my performance. My check pilot was was a lady that I have flown with before and it has always been a pleasure to fly with her. Today she was awfully quite but it was almost nice compared to having someone talking in your ear the entire flight.. There were a couple points when I really wished that I had my instructor there though. Oh well, you learn something new every flight right?

The great thing about flying out of HIO is the wonderful weather we get! Today I was hoping to go pick up my brother down at CVO. I checked the TAFs the night before and they look good. Since I haven’t quite finished my Instrument rating I invited my instructor along so that we could log some actual. Well like it usually does the Tualatin Valley fogged up. 1/4 MI and 001 vv.. pretty lame Everywhere else was reporting 030 ovc and I was stuck on the ground because we knew we wouldn’t be able to get back into the airport. Oh well let the good times roll.
